Agility is a global freight and logistics network with four sites within New Zealand. Growth meant they required a new home in Auckland, and they chose a site at the award winning ‘The Landing’ Business Park, Auckland Airport.
The site is unique in that it is an island surrounded by roadways and cycle/pedestrian routes. In response we created a pavilion concept that would engage with its environment from every side. Colourful blades and fins reflect colours of the surrounding landscape and gesture from inside out to the surrounding nature. The book ends of the warehouse have random, contrasting fins to play off the vertical lines of surrounding groves of trees.
The building connects to the surrounding urban environment – supporting the incredible work of Landscape Architect’s vision.
The project was a finalist in the Property Council Property Awards for Industrial 2017
